Do you know how I can figure out how to fix my 03 Silverado shortbed 4.3 V6?
There is a vibration that I can feel in the gas pedal and throughout the truck when I’m accelerating under 1500 rpm that is making something in the passenger side dash rattle. I’ve taken it in to 2 places, one of them being the dealership. The dealership told me they could not fix it and there’s a service bulletin out for it and it says it’s from the exhaust and to have a 3″ flex pipe installed. I thought they meant 3″ wide but it’s 3″ long. That’s all the room there is to put one. But the problem is that where ever I look I’m being told that they don’t make them that small. What can I do? I bought this truck in June and the warranty’s up. Please help. If I have to keep driving with this vibration I’m going to slam it into a tree.
Have the dealership install 4 vibration dampers onto the catalytic converter assembly. I do this at the dealer I work at fairly often, and 90% of the time, it works everytime. =) Good luck
